Oprah Winfrey is announcing that her show will end in 2011.
Did Nostradamus predict this, too? For many viewers who are addicted to Oprah and all the guests and topics she’s brought to our attention over the years, it’s sort of like the world ending, isn’t it?
Here’s Oprah with Register columnist Yvette Cabrera, who was a guest on a January 2007 segment titled “Thirty-Something Across America.”
The photo is by George Burns, courtesy of Harpo Productions Inc. What you don’t see in it is Oprah’s legs. Yvette later shared a funny anecdote about Oprah not shaving her legs that day. And admitting it!
For me, that’s the kind of down-to-Earth folkisness that helps set Oprah apart from other in the talk show genre. Will you miss Oprah, or do you think it is time for her to move on to other things?
Maybe you even think she should passed into Overkill some time ago?
I know my mom will miss her. She watches Oprah every day. I only catch her now and then. But I enjoy her show when I see it.
Take our poll:
Although, I don’t get to watch her show as often as I would like, I’m always interested in what she has to say. Yes, I’m going to miss her show. But, I’m sure I’ll get my Oprah fix other ways - like her fabulous magazine and hopefully she’ll do some specials.
O is great but there are other wonderful women who can inspire. For example:
I listened to this great radio program on Monday that featured Mommy Millionaire Kim Lavine. She was interviewed on Conversations Live with Vicki St.Clair and had some great ideas for making extra money, whether you’re currently unemployed, want to start your own biz, or already working as an entrepreneur!
Kim wrote THE MOMMY MANIFESTO based on her business smarts and said her single biggest success factor was having the nerve to “go for it.” If you’d like to hear more for yourself you can tune into a free podcast here at any time:

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Thanks Kim Lavine’s PR Person for your comment,…opps, I mean Loresinger.
Politics is her next calling.
You could be right JR.
who is going to tell us what to read, eat, wear, buy, think!!? How will we go on!?
ps…Yvette is pretty hot!
I’m ambivalent.
